Texas Ed: Comments on Education from Texas

Another problem with homeschooling

Filed under: Homeschooling — texased @ 9:01 pm

I’ve been reading several articles lately about students not being prepared for college and facing remediation. There’s the New York Times article and one about Texans paying twice for education among others. So the question is, will my son be prepared? I’m not going to be able to blame the school system, the watered-down curriculum, or pick on certain teachers if he has to take remediation classes.

This happens every six months or so and I know I’ll get over it. But if you are thinking about homeschooling, be prepared to deal with the doubts and accept the responsibility.

  2. I know that homeschoolers are accepted and even recruited by colleges and tend to do very well, I just go through periods where I’m not so sure about mine😉
