Texas Ed: Comments on Education from Texas

July 7, 2006

From the National Education Association

NEA: 2006 Annual Meeting, RA Action Online:

B-73. Home Schooling Adopted Preliminary Report Amend by addition on page 32, line 22, “When home schooling occurs, students enrolled must meet all state curricular requirements, including the taking and passing of assessments to ensure adequate academic progress.”

And if they don’t, they’ll be sent to schools that guarantee they’ll pass?

NEA: 2006 Annual Meeting, RA Action Online:

I-24. Sexual Assault Amendment Referred to Resolutions Committee Preliminary Report Amend by addition on page 76, line 12, “To protect the rights of all students, the Association believes that illegal sexual contact between adults and minors is unacceptable.”

You mean there are illegal situations that you think are acceptable?
