Years later, when the first of our children were about to cross the stage, I was surprised when the principal requested that people please refrain from doing such things and was even more surprised and dismayed when many of them ignored the principal’s requests and acted like they were at a ballgame.

How many schools held TAKS “pep rallies” during the year or other celebrations?

A big thanks to all who helped with this year’s Bring Your Own Banana (BYOB) Celebration for the Greenville Middle School seventh graders who made history by being the first group to score exemplary (91 percent) on the Spring 2006 TAKS Writing test…..Hip! Hip! Hooray! for a job well done.
