You would think this would receive more attention in a military town like San Antonio.

The school finance law requires school districts to accept children whose parents are active duty, reservists called up, or whose parents were killed or wounded on active duty.

It might be our fault

First article I’ve come across that hasn’t blamed the TAKS itself.

TAKS Results Prompt LCISD Question: Have We Got The Right People? - FortBendNow:

The district has a group of students that seems to be succeeding, and “we have this other group that’s not.” Christiana said. “are we prepared to make some hard changes administratively” and, at some point “are we willing to say maybe we’ve got the wrong people?”

I’m not saying the TAKS is a great idea but I do have respect for a district that’s willing to look and see what they might do to improve things.
